This trip is great for families! A 7-mile stretch of water with big pools, Jump Rock, several small, splashy rapids and 2 class III rapids near the end to give you just a taste of of what it's like on the Lower New.
From the time you show up to the time the river trip finishes is approximately 6 1/2 hours.
The New River has existed for more than 160 million years and is second only to the Nile as the oldest river in the world. It runs north for 320 miles where it meets the Ohio River and continues its 700-mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico. The New River Gorge is one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America with more than 1200 species of plants and animals thriving in and around the vicinity.
